A ‘computerized tomography’ (CT) (or ‘computerized axial tomography’ (CAT) scan) creates highly detailed images of the human body by rotating a narrow x-ray beam around the patient.
Harbour Radiology, near Cremorne, uses the latest SIEMENS CT scanner. This state-of-the-art technology produces ultra-fast, high quality images – and it does so with the lowest dose to produce the optimum clinical outcome for every patient.
We offer a very comprehensive CT service including:

- CT colonography
- CT coronary angiogram (CTCA)
- Oncology staging CT
We understand that printed medical images/reports can be easy to lose and also hard to carry around. We make our images and reports easily accessible to patients and their referring clinicians. Using our MEDINEXUS app or portal allows access to images and reports from most mobile devices.
It is important to note that there are certain circumstances that may determine that the scan is not appropriate for you. Allergies, kidney disease and pregnancy may preclude the scan. Also, it is vital that you let us know whether you have ever had an adverse reaction in the past. Certain diabetic medication that contains metformin (such as diabex, diaformin, avandament, glucomet, novamet, genex, glucophage), insulin, or blood thinner (warfarin or aspirin products) may exclude certain scans from being carried out. Finally, please inform our medical staff as to any allergies you may be suffering from.
